Everydays Project #336-349

#336: Alt-236

The alt-code for the infinity symbol is alt-236. Using TextPlus to create 3d models of text that can then be modified into sculptures and signs. This symbol has a convex bevel and a noise modifier to make it look more like a rough stone-carved statue. More practice with the Hair and Fur modifier to create the grass surrounding the statue.

#337: Scatter Laser Lights

Starting with just a sphere and a cube, I used Scatter to randomly place and distort both shapes. Used Toon Shader with a 3D Noise map for the edge color and a 0 value for the base color for all the shapes.

#338: Lawn Ornament

Trying to be photorealistic with this one. Used Hair and Fur to make the grass. Forground concrete sidewalk is made by starting with a plane and slightly insetting and extruding individual spaces, creating the gap between slabs. Stucco wall has a material with a 10 strength Noise bump map to make it look super rough. The lawn ornament has a polished concrete material. It is made from a cone with a Path Deform modifier (the path is an S-shape spline) and a small sphere on top.

#339: Ventilation Shaft

Starting to make some images for my capstone project in school. One of the scenes of my animation is going to have my button doll characters exploring the ventilation shafts of a complex. They will have glow sticks to light the way and other tools too.

#340: Green Lights Mean Go

Wanted to make a psychedelic stylized image using a similar process to the Scatter Laser Lights post above. The alt-code for “←” (left arrow) is Alt-27. The alt-code for “☺” (smiley face) is Alt-1. There is no alt-code for a traffic light.

#341: Full Stack

Wanted to play around with the Melt modifier, so what better than butter melting onto some pancakes. Butter is a Cube with the Melt modifier. Pancakes are cylinders with Noise modifiers and gradient materials. Plate is a cylinder with Edit Poly to give it shape.

#342: Barriers

Wanted to practice modeling different kinds of barriers/fences. Starting off with a small picket fence in front. White vinyl split-rail fence behind that. Next is a painted black chain-link fence. Wooden vertical board fence behind that. The back three are a concrete wall, brick wall with concrete posts and copper caps and a stone castle wall with towers at the back.

#343: Virtual Lenses

A side-by-side of the same objects captured by different lens types.

#344: NRG Transport Vehicle Version 1

More concept modeling for my capstone project. Hoppity is going to be an independent contractor hired to deliver crucial NRG to the complex.

#345: Riding Laser Cutters

More concept modeling for my capstone project. The Button Dolls use their riding cutter laser tools to cut the ends off the NRG crystals to empty the NRG fluid into the tanks.

#346: 15 Minutes

Started this one at 11:40 pm and only had 15 minutes to make it. Started off with a cylinder and used Edit Poly to add capsules for the tick marks and pyramids for the hour and minute hands. Then used two Bend modifiers to give it the wavy look. Then used Scatter to randomly place and distort the cubes in the background.

#347: Fluid Simulation 1

Wanted to learn to used 3DSMax’s liquid emitter simulator for one of the scenes in my capstone project. Tried three different presets for this animation: water, honey and ketchup.

Also tried an animation of orange water running through a tube that follows a helix spline.

#348: BackRoom Secrets

Just a blue light inside a box.

#349: 7% Acceptance Rate

Hoppity practicing the declining of cheap offers.
